Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues, September 8-11, 2018 Obituaries Larue M. Harrow Hanel July 7, 1925 – August 30, 2018 Larue was born on July 7, 1925 to Florence and Junius Harrow. She was a middle child with two brothers and two sisters. All but her sister, Lorraine Leatherbury, preceded her in death. She was married to Russell Quinn (divorced/deceased), and together they raised three beautiful daughters, Pat Green (Steve), Kim Webster, and Hailey Hadean. Besides her daughters, Larue is survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. On Aug. 30, 2018, in the early hours of the morning, Larue passed from this life, taking a piece of all our hearts. She was known by many names, Larue, Rue, Mom, Grandma Rue, and Mama. She was known though as a beautiful woman who was not afraid to work hard and fight to the end, which she proved in death as well as in life. She faced many challenges in life, and struggled valiantly for the last several years, yet her first concerns were still for those who came to visit her. You could bring her gifts that she adored and cherished, but she would try Larue M. Harrow Hanel to give them away to the next visitor just so she could give them something. The greatest thing she gave us, however, is wonderful memories, too many to recount within this narrative. We will never forget her many sayings. When she coughed and didn’t want you to think she was spreading a cold, she would quickly point out, “only choking.” She also reminded us after to “be careful”, “lock your doors”, and when you called she always mentioned how happy she was to hear from you. No one will ever forget her laugh or her mischievous smile. She was always beautiful, but before she went out of her house she always had to have her bangs curled. Her motto should have been “eyebrows drawn and lipstick on.” Holidays meant so much to her, from making costumes, to buying gifts in July. She was an artist, a seamstress, and a rock wall builder! She loved working in the yard and garden, she always had animals, cats, dogs, horses, and anything that strayed in and needed her love. But, her greatest service was that of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Until we meet again Larue, we may have taken you for granted but we loved you dearly, you are our entire world. An intimate family ceremony was held at Lily Lake in Summit County, on Sept. 1, 2018.
