The club provides cross-country mountain bike riding and racing through the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). LIFEGUARD COURSE AT PC MARC Get Red Cross Lifeguard Certified with PC MARC with a lifeguarding class running from April 30 to May 12. GOLF GROUP HOSTS ANNUAL SOCIAL The Park City Women’s Golf Association 18 Hole Group will hold their annual opening social on April 30 at 5 p.m. at a local private residence. All interested lady golfers are welcome to attend. Annual membership dues are $40 and there is a $20 cost to attend the social. Play is held weekly on Tuesday mornings from May to September. Utah Golf Association fees are not included and UGA membership is required to play. Club membership forms are available in the Park City Municipal golf course pro shop and at the social. Even with the cold, and with parents wrapped up on icy bleachers, it was not a game either team wanted to cancel – Corner Canyon stood at No. 1 in the Utah High School Lacrosse League, the Miners were No. 2. The Miners flipped those rankings by keeping the Chargers to two goals and scoring six. The team would describe it as a “gritty” win, an adjective that could well describe the Miners this year. Last season, the Miners were stacked with talent, particularly on offense, where it had three seniors -- Ryan Smith, Kyler Walterson and Carlos Kinder. BASIN RECREATION ADULT SWIM CLINICS More than 40 local athletes will take the mat this weekend Basin Recreation is hosting an Adult Swim Clinic for anyone over the age of 15 interested in learning how to swim, improve their stroke technique or become more efficient in the water. This program goes step by step through the basics of body position and the progression of each stroke. Classes will be offered two times a week for four weeks starting May 1. All swimmers will start with the basics and progresses at the same pace. Cost of this program is $80.00 and is open for registration. East West Health 1790 Sun Peak Dr., #A-102 Park City, UT 84098 435-640-1353 Black Diamond Gymnastics’ Park City teams competed in the USA Gymnastics Utah Optional/Xcel State Meet on March 14 through 17, where the teams earned 20 first-place finishes, 13 second-place finishes and 23 thirdplace finishes across two competitive categories. For four of the team’s optional-level athletes – the traveling competitive team – that means a trip to Phoenix this weekend, where they will compete in the USAG Region 1 level 6 and 7 regional meet against athletes from Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California’s two regions. Optional teams, as opposed to compulsory teams, get to choose their own routines, giving the athletes some artistic freedom in their performances. For those level 6 and 7 athletes, including Ganet Dahl, Luli Puchalski, Akacia Christoffersen and Sedona Murdock, this will be their first regional competition at that level. “The meets are always exciting, but it feels bigger when you’re going somewhere else,” Murdock said.
