Park City Film Series: ‘I, Tonya’ The Park City Film Series will present Craig Gillespie’s Academy Award-nominated “I, Tonya,” rated R, through Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. The Saturday screening will start at 8 p.m. and Sunday’s screening will start at 6 p.m. Based on the unbelievable but true events, “I, Tonya” is a darkly comedic tale of American figure skater, Tonya Harding, and one of the most sensational scandals in sports history. Though Harding (portrayed by Margot Robbie) was the first American woman to complete a triple axel in competition, her legacy was forever defined by her alleged association with an attack on fellow Olympic competitor Nancy Kerrigan (Caitlyn Carver). Jullie Nester Gallery Presents ‘Animalia II’ by Nine Francois An artist reception for photographer Nine Francois new exhibit “Animalia II” opening will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Julie Nester Gallery, 1280 Iron Horse Drive. The exhibit will feature 14 new images of close-ups prsented against a white background. Francois travels to animal preserves across the globe and uses a wide angle lens. Snowshoe Tour of the Swaner Preserve A snowshoe tour of the Swaner Preserve will be held form 8:30-10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, and will start at the Swaner EcoCenter, 1258 Center Drive and Kimball Junction. The cost is $10 per person, $5 for Park City and Summit County residents and free for Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter members. The tour will include information about plants and animals. The EcoCenter will provide the climbing harness, but climbers must wear closed-toe shoes. Climbers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to sign a liability waiver. Fox School of Wine Mines & Wines Tour The Fox School of Wine Mines & Wines Tour will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17. Fox School of Wine Weekend Wine Series The Fox School of Wine hosts its weekend wine series from 6-7 p.m. every Saturday at the Silver Baron Lodge in Lower Deer Valley, Fox School of Wine professors select five wines based on a theme that changes every week. Monday, Feb. 19 Youth Sports Alliance Hand Drawn Animation The Youth Sports Alliance will host a handdrawn animation class from 1:45-3:45 p.m. on Mondays through March 5, at Treasure Mountain Junior High, 2530 Kearns Blvd. Students will bring illustrated characters to life by learning basic drawing techniques and motion progression in an easy, accessible way. Youth Sports Alliance Moves Conditioning The Youth Sports Alliance and Crossfit Park City will host moves conditioning class from 1:45-3:45 p.m. Mondays through March 5, at Treasure Mountain Junior High, 2530 Kearns Blvd. The program is designed to increase strength, power, conditioning, and speed as well as develop athletic ability and positioning in athletes of any sport. It will also offer a variety of life skills including empowerment, self awareness, confidence, respect, perseverance and teamwork. Each child should attend with a healthy snack and drink.
