Park City Film Series: ‘The Florida Project’ The Park City Film Series will present Sean Baker’s “The Florida Project,” rated R, through Sunday, Dec. 31, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. Saturday’s screening will start at 8 p.m. and Sunday’s screening will start at 6 p.m. “The Florida Project” tells the story of a precocious six year-old (Brooklynn Prince) and her ragtag group of friends whose summer break is filled with childhood hijinks and a sense of adventure while the adults around them struggle with hard times. The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute’ will run at 8 p.m. from Friday to Sunday, Dec. 29-31, at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. ‘Who’s Bad’ is one of the longest-running Michael Jackson tribute bands,formed before The King of Pop’s passing in 2009. Avalanche Dog Meet and Greet The public can meet the Park City Mountain Avalanche Rescue Dogs at 4:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday at Canyons Ski Beach. The event is free and open to the public. The EcoCenter will provide the climbing harness, but climbers must wear closed-toe shoes. Climbers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to sign a liability waiver. Fox School of Wine Mines & Wines Tour The inaugural Fox School of Wine Mines & Wines Tour will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16. Fox School of Wine Weekend Wine Series The Fox School of Wine hosts its weekend wine series from 6-7 p.m. every Saturday at the Silver Baron Lodge in Lower Deer Valley, Fox School of Wine professors select five wines based on a theme that changes every week. Sunday, Dec. 31 New Year’s Eve at Canyons Park City Mountain will host a New Year’s Eve celebration with free live music and fireworks at Canyons Village on Sunday, Dec. 31. Park City Institute Presents: Rhiannon Giddens Park City Institute will present Grammy Award-winning singer Rhiannon Giddens, co-founder of The Carolina Chocolate Drops, at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31, at the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts, 1750 Kearns Blvd. Giddens, known for her voice, banjo, guitar and fiddle, has also performed with Grammy-winning cellist Yo Yo Ma in his Silk Road Ensemble.
