To do this, the author of the Rated R "The Florida Project is a must-see work—and one of the year’s best films." -The Atlantic Underwritten by Ben and Hilary Nitka JIM SANTY AUDITORIUM 1255 PARK AVE, “I always meet people who tell me they want to write a children’s book, and I want this book to push them off the edge...” PARK CITY • 435.615.8291 HELLYHANSEN.COM Katie Mullaly, Park City-based author “Land Of” children’s book series has penned her first nonfiction book titled “Self-Publishing Your Children’s Book: A Practical Guide to the Planning, Printing, and Promotion of Your Children’s Book.” The 56-page guide includes chapters about good story components, book layout, marketing and distribution – everything Mullaly learned while writing her “Land Of” book series that help kids and families learn life lessons such as decision making, developing self esteem and inclusion. The book is available at Amazon.com. “This isn’t a book about how to write a children’s book, even though there is a section that tells about the components of a book,” Mullaly said during an interview with The Park Record. “It really doesn’t tell you how to write it. It’s about how to publish one.” The biggest challenge of writing the self-publishing guide was editing. “I knew I wanted to keep the information concise,” Mullaly said. “I have purchased self-publishing books in the past, and I would get lost in the pages because they were so thick. So for my book, I had to prioritize what belonged in the a lot to us to provide a place for both locals and visitors to come together and celebrate the coming year with free music, dancing and fireworks.” The evening’s activities will start at 5:30 p.m. with live dance music on the Canyons Village Stage, Ryan said. “This year, we’re excited to have local Utah cover band Metro Music Club perform before the fireworks show. We’ll also have a lot of fun activities for kids and families to enjoy together,” she said. Other activities will actually start in the afternoon. “Before the New Year‘s Eve Celebration, a magician will perform in the Canyons Village from 2:30- 4:30 p.m. for kids and families to enjoy,” she said. Fireworks will start at 7:30 p.m. “The kids will love watching the fireworks show [and] we’ll also have glow sticks and New Year’s Party Supplies like horns to help the kids ring in the New Year,” Ryan said. The evening will cap off with a Roaring Twenties New Year’s Party will be held at the Grand Summit Hotel. Dinner will be served from 7:30-9:30 p.m. and live music and dancing will run from until 1 a.m. The cost is $169 for adults and $99 for children ages 12 and younger. Guests who want to attend the Roaring Twenties New Year’s Eve Party can RSVP by calling 435-6153336. Ryan said 1920s attire is encouraged but not required.
