Summer Camps with Park City Rec Basin Recreation Youth NFL Flag Football It’s not too late to make this summer memorable for your child. Park City Recreation offers skateboarding, dirt jump and tennis camps through August 18, and two sessions of swim lessons are still available. Join Wasatch Mountain State Park to celebrate and honor all active military and veterans on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities will include jumbo Jenga, yard Yahtzee, ladder ball toss, corn hole and nine-square in the air. Free rentals for fishing poles, fat tire bikes and GPS units for geocaching. A Dutch oven lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is free for Military families. Tickets for nonmilitary members are $5. An honor guard ceremony will take place at 1 p.m., followed by cake and ice cream. Youth Crew August Adventure School is creeping up fast. Join Basin Recreation for one last adventure before the summer ends with Mountainside Wake School. Professional instructors from Utah’s only accredited wake surf school will teach everyone the ropes of wake surfing and with any luck, you’ll be dropping the rope in no time. The August Adventure will take place on Aug. 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jordanelle State Park. Drop-off and pick-up will be at the Trailside Admin Offices. Ages of participants is 10 to 13 years old. Cost is $40 per participant. For questions, please contact Sam Schwoebel at Basin Recreation. The Quinney Welcome Center, will ensure all of those visiting Park City a ride up to the entrance of Utah Olympic Park at no charge. Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day at Trailside Bike Park Join the Youth Sports Alliance, Basin Recreation, JANS and White Pine Touring on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Trailside Bike Park for a great day out on the trails. Participants will experience skills clinics, guided rides from experienced coaches from Basin Recreation, Deer Valley, JANS, White Pine Touring and Young Riders. Riders will also learn mechanical and safety tips. This is a free event, but registration is required to attend. Registration is open to the first 100 riders so don’t delay, register now. As a host of the NFL Flag Football league, Basin Recreation is giving every boy and girl in the community a chance to play in an organized, noncontact football league wearing official gear of the NFL. Player evaluations will be used to rate all players abilities and will allow staff to create even and fair teams. Please ensure your player attends the evaluation if possible.
