Strong 1936 - 2017 Charles “Chuck” Strong, a Park City resident since 1987, passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 9 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 8, 1936, in Chicago to William Strong and Ruth Meiborg, and raised in Elmhurst, Illinois. He married his high school sweetheart, Marian Wagner, and together they had a daughter, Pamela, and a son, Ronald. He started his career with United Parcel Service in Illinois and was transferred to Minneapolis, where he obtained a Business Administration Certificate from the University of Minnesota. He continued his career in management, eventually being DISCOVER ALL THAT PARK CITY HAS TO OFFER FOR transferred to Columbus, Ohio, and Greenwich, Connecticut, where he retired after 30 years of service. After retiring, he moved to Park City. He loved skiing, tennis, golf, scuba diving, and was an avid Utah Jazz fan. He belonged to various food and wine clubs, and traveling to see the world was his passion, especially with his family. He contributed to the community by volunteering with KPCW and the Park City Library. He is survived by his wife, Marian, daughter Pam and son Ron, five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Bob and Jim. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 17, from Charles D. Strong 5-8 p.m. at the Jeremy Ranch Golf and Country Club (8770 Jeremy Road, Park City). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Samuel A. Minghini Join Park City Chamber/Bureau as we kick off the summer season by highlighting 40 local business that offer summer activities while mixing and mingling with friends Samuel Arthur Minghini, 82, passed away peacefully in his home in Woodstock, Georgia, on Saturday, May 20. FREE FOOD // CASH BAR // PRIZES & GIVEAWAYS Sam was born in Boyce, Virginia on June 11, 1934, son of the late Charles Arthur Minghini and Hattie Hottle. He loved amusements parks, horse racing, NASCAR, bowling and baseball. He was a loving father and adoring grandfather. Sam took great pride in his work regardless of the job. His strong work ethic and attention to detail were qualities his children both admired and inherited. He was a grocer for most of his life. He opened the Clark County Food Center in 1960 and went to work for Safeway in 1973. He retired in 2000 after 27 years as a night stocker and grocery clerk. He is survived by his five chil- dren: Steven Minghini of Winchester, Virginia; Karen Fleming of Woodstock, Georgia; Anita Minghini of Winchester, Virginia; Teresa Haynes of Park City; Mark Minghini of Greensburg, Pensylvania. He is also survived by eight grandchildren — Amanda Fleming, Austin Minghini, Lauren Haynes, Adam Lambert, Margaret Haynes, Ryan Lambert, Sarah Minghini, Meghan Minghini — and a sister, Ruth Loy of Winchester, Virginia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3, at Lakeside Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. A memorial and celebration of life service will begin at 4 p.m. with a reception immediately following.
