Show A-12 Wed/Thurs/Fri, May 24-26, 2017 The Park Record Obituary Martin Polychronis June 11, 1952 – May 20, 2017 Marty died peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, May 20. He was a beloved husband, son, brother, father and, his most proud achievement, a grandfather. Marty was born in the Park City Miner’s hospital on June 11, 1952. He met the love of his life, Pamela, at a very young age while they were both still in high school. They were married on Jan. 5, 1972, and have been happily married for 45 years. They were blessed with both a daughter and a son. Marty lived out his life in his beloved hometown of Park City. He had a passion for the outdoors. From skiing and snowmobiling in the mountains to boating and water sports in Lake Powell, Utah was the perfect place for him to call him home. Anyone who knew Marty knew that he had a special place in his heart for animals, particularly his dogs. He had a special kind of love, understanding and bond with all of them and we know that right now there’s nowhere he’d rather be than the rainbow bridge. Marty is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly, and is survived by wife Pam, father Charlie, brother Rodger, daughter Stacey, son Nicholas, granddaughter Elena, grandson Harrison and, of course, his dog, Jasmine. A Celebration of Marty’s life will be held Friday, May 26, from 1-3 p.m. at The Jeremy Ranch Clubhouse. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your favorite Utah animal rescue organization, such as Nuzzles & Co. or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Continued from A-1 sorts property. Renovations will include a complete overhaul of all 212 suites, changes to the lobby and front desk, and a full remodel of the on-site spa, café and general store. “We’re incredibly excited for the Grand Summit to be flagged as a RockResorts hotel, further boosting the luxury lodging options at the Canyons Village Base Area,” Van Ness said. Throughout the summer, Park City Mountain is scheduled to host a number of events, including the Kids Adventure Games on June 16, the start of the Summer Concert Series at Canyons Village on June 24 and its annual Fourth of July Celebration. The Summit County Democratic Party’s central committee is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in the cafeteria of the Park City High School. The meeting is open to the public, but voting will be restricted to members of the central committee. The central committee is comprised of the officers of the county’s party, elected officials and about 80 delegates. At the meeting, three names will be selected from the list to be forwarded to the County Council. Butler said the council may conduct interviews as early as next week. A new county attorney must be appointed by June 12 or Gov. Gary Herbert will be required to name a replacement. “We are absolutely very pleased with the robust slate of candidates that we have and we are very thankful that everyone in the party, including in Summit and Wasatch Counties, really pulled out all of the stops to call friends, coworkers and attorneys to let them know this position was available,” Butler said. She was patient and willing to work with our limited experience and budget while trying to move to Park City. She was extremely aware of the housing market in PC and frequently invited us to view homes before the were even listed. Her expertise and immediacy helped two type A personalities feel at ease with the entire process. She negotiated a mutually beneficial outcome despite difficult circumstances. I would without a doubt recommend Sheila as a realtor and look forward to her continuing hospitality in the years to come as a Park City resident.” -P.S. ~ Zillow SH E I L A HA L L branch broker 435.640.7162 | sheila@sheilahall.com 1700 Park Avenue | Park City, Utah 84060 © 2016 BHH Affiliates, LLC.
