The Police Department received a report about the missing images at 7:49 a.m. on Jan. 6. The disappearance of the first image three weeks ago was not reported to the Police Searching for new things to do? You don’t have to work this hard. The investigation is continuing. Kirk said someone could attempt to sell the images or keep them for personal use. City Hall requires construction sites on or close to Main Street to decorate fences in an effort to create a more pleasant look as compared to a fence that is not decorated. There was concern during a previous period of heavy construction along Main Street that the undecorated sites diminished the experience on the shopping, dining and entertainment strip. The losses at the former Kimball Art Center site occurred in the weeks after work started on a major redevelopment. The fence the images once decorated and a construction walkway have been put up, and there has been heavy machinery seen at the site. The site is under the ownership of a California firm known as Columbus Pacific Properties. The redevelopment involves a new building at the Main Street-Heber Avenue intersection. It will be connected to the historic one with a glass breezeway. The project entails an undetermined number of retail spaces and space designed for events. Opponents, though, have challenged the approval of the event space. Anybody with information about the stolen images may contact the Police Department at 615-5500. Two drivers strike a moose Animal dies after first collision, then it is hit again JAY HAMBURGER The Park Record Two drivers hit a moose at almost the same time on S.R. 224 Sunday evening, killing the animal, the Park City Police Department said. The accidents were reported at approximately 8 p.m. in the vicinity of the state highway’s intersections with Meadows Drive and Holiday Ranch Loop Road. Phil Kirk, a police captain, said the vehicles were driving outbound when the moose attempted to cross the road from west to east. Kirk said a 53-year-old Summit County woman driving a 2007 Subaru Legacy hit the moose first. The animal, a calf, died in the initial collision. A 21-year-old Park City man driving a Mazda hit the dead animal just afterward, he said. The people in the vehicles were not injured. Kirk said each of the vehicles suffered several thousand dollars in damage. Kirk said an adult moose was seen nearby at the time of the accident and was seen again in the vicinity on Monday. Kirk said the adult moose is likely the mother of the one that was killed. The Park City area provides moose habitat, and the Police Department receives reports of sightings on a regular basis. Accidents involving drivers and moose, though, are rare. at thN o w o e To p e N p of Mai n Market | Café | Espresso Located at the Historic Imperial House 221 Main Street, Park City | 435.649.0799 Open Daily 7:30 am to 7:00 pm RiverhorseProvisions.com Inquire about Riverhorse Catering, Private Chef & Event Venues: events@riverhorseparkcity.com General inquiries: provisions@riverhorseparkcity.com follow us on Instagram: @RHprovisions |
