Show - V V n n j Surge in Second Half Gives Cats B ig Win , By RAY SCHWARTZ ,' Herald Sports Editor Brigham Young 'University's Cougars got inspiration, from a Homecoming Day crowd and opportunity from a rumbling, -plagued Denver University football team and combined the two Saturday for a 25-- 6 victory , : penalty- over the Pioneers. " Thevictory 'was' a big one for the Cats because it moved them into third place in the redhot, topsy-turv- y Skyline football race. It is still anybody's title chase and the championship might not be decided until the final game of the season. A crowd of 11,017 fans, including Sen. A. V. Watkins, sat in perfect football, weather in the BYU stadium and watched the Cougars score their first victory over Denver 'since 1952. j Tumble Five Times The Pioneers fumbled five times and Coach Hal Kopp's alert and aggressive Cats pounced on four of the bobbles, turning two of them into touchdowns. A third Cougar touchdown came on a blocked punt which resulted from a low pass from center and fumbled by Fullback Dan Loos.
