Show THEME: 'KNOWLEDGE IS POWER Federated Women's Clubs Set Orem Confab April 13 By PEGGY WHITWOOD OREM With, the theme, "Knowledge is Power," the annual spring convention of the First Timpano-go- s District of Federated Women's Clubs will begin Saturday, April 13, in Orem at the Orem High School. The two federated clubs in Orem, the Orem Women's Club and the Orem Literary Club, will, act as hostesses for the day for the hundreds of club women from northern Utah County who will be in attendance during the day. Club members from the 28 federated clubs in the district are celebrating the day as a birthday party, since it is the 48th year 6ince the first Timpanogos District was organized. It was the first district in the state to organize. It has been 10 years since the district was divided between north and south Utah County . clubs. Registration will begin in the lo'v of hih th? school at 9:30 under the direction of Mrs. Homer Thompson and Mrs. Ada Skinner. There will be a short board meeting at 9:15, under the direction of the district president, Mrs. Karl Banks of Lehi. The morning meeting will convene at 10 a. m., under the direction of Mrs. Banks, and the state officers present as guests will be introduced. An innovation will be the panel discussion of all phases of club vork discussed by the various chairmen, with Mrs. Delbert Chipman of American Fork as moderator. Previously the members have met in various departments for short sessions following the first portion of the meeting. It is hoped that all club members will be able to get a more complete picture of the complete function of club work by everyone participating in the one general meeting. The luncheon at noon will honor the past presidents of the dis-tr-- "t who served before and after Kit- it was divided. There as special guests will be past presidents still living in the district. A very special guest will be Mrs. A. H. Chris tenson, nominated as the "Mother of the Year" for this district and a top candidate for state mother of the year. Pyne and Mrs. Allen Winterton.
