Well, the youngster who has veteran observers really singing southhis praises is a of name Juan the hurler by paw Cordova Pizarro. And, no less an authority than Bill Terry, the last .400 hitter in the National League, goes into ecstasies over the young Puerto Rican Negro, who is all the way. When "Memphis Bill" raves about a player he must be good, because Terry, who built three championship National League clubs, always was conservative about baseball talent. There have been some spring training observers who feel Pizarro, who has a slingshot for a left arm, might be a year "away" from the Big Leaguers. But Terry isn't among them. "Send Pizarro out!" exclaimed Terry in reply to a question put to him by NEA Sports Editor Harry Grayson on Pizarro's ability to stick in the Major Leagues. "They won't send him out. They'll keep him. A blind man would keep him. This fellow can't miss becoming one of the great pitchers. He'll win 15 games this year. He'll average 10 strikeouts and go on to win 20 or 25 or more. He's a gold mine, really tough." Terry says Pizarro reminds him of Carl Hubbell, the old screwball pitcher of the Giants. Is he as fast as Hubbell? Terry was asked. "Fast as Hubbell!" Terry shot back. "Why he's as fast as anyone who ever threw a baseball. He can really throw the ball by you and has the curve to go with left-hand- ed nt United Press Sports Writer KANSAS CITY, Mo.
