The victory was the 21st consecutive league triumph for the Timps, who won their last 20 USBL games of the 1956 season. Displaying the same pitching form that made him the most respected pitcher in state semi-pr- o circles a few years ago, Ford allowed Spanish Fork only four bits Monday night and struck out 11 batters as he hurled the Timps to victory. It was his booming double off fence in the the seventh inning that scored two funs to break a 1 deadlock and give the Timps a 1 lead.' They remained out in front the rest of the way. Despite the fact that wet weather cramped the spring schedule, all but four of 15 rec"i ords on the Skyline books were either tied or bettered during the season in track and field. Brigham Young University accounted for five of these new marks, besides winning the conference track and field crown for the third consecutive year. One of the season highlights was the new record set by Arlyn d Fhnlinson in the dash. Fmlinson, who held the Skyline half-mil- e record at 1:54.1 before Utah's Gary Eyre started cutting away at the mark, cracked the quarter-mil- e record that has been on the books since 1931.
