A native of Springville, she is a daughter of Flora H. and the late Owen .McKenzie. Mrs. Whiting is a property owner and taxpayer in Utah county, and at present is a deputy in the Utah county treasurer's office. She has had many years of business experience, having worked for. several firms as a bookkeeper and accountant Vice chairwoman of the Third GOP district in Springviile, Mrs. Whiting is also a member (of the Woman's Legislative council of Utah county. The sum total A dining pleasure! 10 First on a long list of "firsts" for 10 fifth grade children from the elementary school at Schofield, Carbon county was a visit to The Daily Herald publishing plant, Saturday. Over half of the children were making their initial trip outside Carbon county, Don McAlister, principal of the school reported. The trip is a reward for good behavior for the fifth graders, all from coal miners' families in the Schofield area, according to Mr. McAlister. Other ports of call for the boys and girls were the fish hatchery, Springviile Geneva Steel, and the Provo power plant, with a movie in the evening to put the finishing touches on their exciting tour of Central Utah. The children, who make up one fifth of the entire membership of ' the Schofield school, made the trip in the automobiles of their two teachers, Mr. McAlister, and Mrs. Wilda Brimhall.
