Turley took away the crystal trophy Wednesday night not because he was necessarily the best dancer, but because he raised the most for charity, said Maddy Talbert, director of Wasatch House, a program of Wasatch Mental Health. Of the roughly $7,000 the event raised, Turley brought in about $1,300 on his own, she said. The money will be put toward the construction of a new building for Wasatch House, a facility for mentally ill adults. "It just came together," she said. "It was a success not just because of the money, but because of the relationships and community connections that we made." Turley said for his part, he considers himself a terrible dancer but he was glad to help out. Just don't count on him making another appear ance next year. "It was the best and the worst all rolled up in one. I've done some other pretty scary things in my life, but with Brigham Young University ballroom dancer Dia Beck. Other competitors included that was the most scared I've ever been," he said.
