Show - THE pAILY HERALD, (wwwiiaiiTheHerald.com), Provo, Utah, Thursday, Way 4, 2000 ...... Here 's how to clean that crystal ' Dear Readers: I you for your informative column. Dotty received a question from Kitty via wanting to know how to CLEAN A CRYSTAL CHANDELIER. There are a couple of ways to clean the crystals. One simple way is to clean them while they are still attached to the chandelier. Put on a pair of clean cotton gloves or use a soft cloth. Spray one glove (on the palm side) or cloth with window cleaner, or make your own using a 12 cup of isopropyl rubbing alcohol, 12 cup nonsudsing ammonia and 12 cup of water, being sure to label the container clearly. Rub each crystal between the dampened glove or cloth, and, voila, the job is done. Another way, a little does more a wonderful job of cleaning. Remove each crystal and wash in a pan of warm, sudsy vater. Then carefully put them in a colander and spray water over them to rinse. Let them drain and Heloise dry to a sparkle. P.S.: Please don't forget to include your full name, city and state when sending a hint or question to HeloiseCompuServe.com. Lummen, Mico, Texas Craft items Dear Heloise: A recent me inca- stroke has left pable of doing the many craft projects I once did, so I am getting rid of all my materials. Is there any organization that could use them? It seems such a shame to simply throw them away. Heloise Dear Heloise: We love n our area rugs, especially the ones with fringes and tassels, but the problem is that they sometimes get tangled and Then, too, they can't be vacuumed because they get caught on the beaters of the vacuum cleaner. We've learned that they can be swept straight with a common broom. It eliminates bending over to straighten them and gets the dust and lint out on the floor where it can be picked up when we vacuum the rest of the rug area.
