Show Of interest locally is the announcement an-nouncement made recently of the appointment of Robert R. Colyar, 49, of Salt Lake City as a probation officer of U. S. District Dis-trict Court by Chief Judge Willis W. Ritter. Mr. Colyar comes to his post after 13 years in professional pro-fessional social work. He is a native of Bingham Canyon, and was graduated from Bingham High School. He received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Utah in 1946, and a master's degree in social work from Boston University in 1949. Days Mr. Moss will be available are Friday afternoon from 3 o'clock on, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Mon-day morning until 9:30 a.m. Sharlene Foster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Foster of Copperton, was listed among those receivir new scholarships granted by the Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers, to seniors who graduated from high schools this year. Howard Begay, 23, Bingham, was found innocent of involuntary involun-tary manslaughter after a trial before Third District Court Judge Joseph G.' Jeppson. Mr. Begay was charged in connection with the death of Philjp Compagno in a traffic mishap on the Bingham highway. . Appointment of Patrolman Marion Carter, 28, as chief deputy, de-puty, South Salt Lake Police Department was announced by the South Salt Lake City Council Monday night. Officer Carter worked for the Bingham Police Department for three and a half years before joining the South Salt Lake force three months ago. His new deputies will include in-clude direction of the night shift and taking charge of department operations in the absence of Marshall Henry Dipo. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Householder Household-er moved into their new home in the White City area in Sandy the first part of the week. - |
