Ross, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald G. Ross of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Hamp-shire. No definite plans for the wedding have been ma de. Miss Ablett was graduated from the University of Utah in 1957 where she majored in dance education. edu-cation. She is presently teaching at the University of New Hampshire Hamp-shire in Durham. Concert Choir, and was on the dean's list, ATTEND MUNICIPAL LEAGUE Mayor Joe Dispenza and City Recorder Mae Stillman of Bingham Canyon attended the Municipal League meetings in Salt Lake City all day Thursday and Friday of last week. CHANGES MEET NIGHT TO THURSDAY Woman's Society of Christian Service of the St. Paul's Community Commu-nity Church held their regular general gen-eral meeting for September at the Fire Auxiliary met Monday night as guests of Mrs. Don Prigmore. Bridge was played with prizes won by Mrs. Jack Householder Jr., first; Mrs. Boyd Anderson, second; Mrs. Tom Prigmore, consolation, and Mrs. Hosmer Peterson, bingo. Lovely Love-ly refreshments were served to fourteen members by the hostess. Mrs. Lottie Rawlings will be hostess hos-tess next Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Nielsen were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Paul LaBounty and family of Lead Mine. Mrs. Alice Brisk left Tuesday for Denver, Colo., to visit three weeks with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Gust and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sturgill and family, fam-ily, Lee, Drake, and Mishele, of Kearns motored to McGill, Nev., last week end to visit their son and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gust and family. Jay Nielsen left Thursday of last week to report to a base in North Carolina where he will attend an aviation electronics school, after spending a 25-day leave of absence from the coast guard, here with his wife and children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Nielsen and other relatives. Mrs. Earl T. James entertained her bridge club at her home in Clearfield Tuesday night. Prizes at cards were won by Mrs. John O'Brien, O'-Brien, Mrs. Harold W. Nielsen, Mrs. C. A. Morley and Mrs. Harold Chesler. Dainty late refreshments were served. Martha Circle met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Charlotte Murano in Copperton. A nicely-arranged one o'clock luncheon was served to fourteen members. Afterwards a business meeting was held and bridge was played. Prizes were won by Mrs. Helen Sullenger, Mrs. Neva Jensen and Mrs. Ida Bolman. Mrs. Mary Zaccaria and Mrs. Kay Sonne received the bingo prizes. Other members attending were Mrs Bessie West, Mrs. Frances Roger-son, Roger-son, Mrs. Berniece Willie, Mrs. Myra Larick, Mrs. Helen Austin, Mrs. Irene Frazier, Mrs. Bess Kemp and Mrs. Pearl Rasmussen. Next Circle meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Rasmussen in Copperton on October I. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Groves were their daughters daugh-ters and families, Mr, and Mrs. Jack Peck and children. O Wednesday evening, Mrs. Verio Kendrick was hostess to her bridge club at her home in Copperton. Special guest was Mrs. Wally Swen-on. Swen-on. Prizes at cards were won by Mrs. Jack Householder Jr., first; Mrs. A. D. Bentley, second; and Mrs. Swenson, consolation. Al.io three, birthdays were celebrated during the evening. They were Mrs Hosmer Peterson, Mrs. Bentley and Mrs. Kendrick, who each were presented pre-sented with a lovely gift from the club. Other members present were Mrs. A. J. Sargent, Mrs. Phil Sanderson Sand-erson and Mrs. Boyd Anderson. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess. home of Mrs. Benton Boyd in Lark Tuesday night with Mrs. Dan Grov-jes, Grov-jes, president, presiding. It was reported that starting in October the meeting night has been 'changed to the second Thursday pf he month. Mrs. J. L. Murano gave a talk on the Woman's Society conference held in St. Louis, Mo., in May and Mrs. Boyd gave a spiritual reading. A delicious light luncheon was served by the hostess at the close of the meeting. Fifteen members I were in attendance. EAGLES Next regular meeting of Bing-ham-Midvale Eagles Aerie No. 659 is scheduled for Monday night, September 22, at 8:00 o'clock at the lodge hall in Midvale, according accord-ing to Herb Gust, aerie secretary. An initiation will be held on Sunday, September 28. All officers and members are urged to be present pres-ent at both meetings. Mrs. Howard Hausknecht entertained enter-tained the afternoon birthday club at her home Thursday of last week. A very lovely one o'clock luncheon was served after which bridge was played. Prizes were won by Mrs. lleber Nichols. Mrs. W.D.S. Brown and Mrs. Pete Smith. |
