The representatives of the United States geological survey have reached the Silver Fork district. They are under B. S. Butler in this survey of the Alta Cottonwoods. It is reported that have determined the fact that the they east side of Silver Fork fault Is 200 feet higher than the west, which is of value to the mining fraternity in that section of the camp. They found the Alta Tunnel block of ground "very compact." Alta Tunnel f under-draina- ore-hauli- ge ng Cottomvood King Face Showing Good Values Reports brought down from the Cottonwood King by Manager Parry, who was accompanied by W. J. McLaughlin and Robert Holt, are that the tunnel is now in 1525 feet. He says: "The face is now in the finest formation for a large deposit of ore we have making had. The face ia identical with the yet oro found on the surface. The ore is copper, silver and lead, and the formation is white dolomite limestone. Supt. L. T. Wakeham declares that we are in a formation that should make a large deposit of ore." OTHER TINTIC NOTES Latest reports from the Yankee Consolidated at Tintic are that the winze from the main level in the Beck Tunnel end of the ground is down 100 feet and drifting- has been started to crosscut the great quartz ledge.
