AM 800 Children at Santa CluasPsrly Last Saturday Approximately 800 Sandy chil dren under the age of 12 years attended the annual Lions Club Christmas party for the children held Dec. 22 at the Sandy Recre tion Hall under supervision of Wayne Berrett, Lion president. The youngsters enjoyed several cartnnns showed them followed who by a visit from Santa Clam presented each child with a generous bag of Christmas goodies. Durine the evening a drawing was held by Lion officers to determine the winner ot the Betsy Wetsy doll and wardroDe wnicnwq riven away by the Sandy Jaycee Auxiliary in their ta fund raising drive, ine xuwy wrmn was Mrs Deo a Crawford. According to Mrs Crawford, the doll has been in turn given to the Primary Children's Hospital in Pres. & Mrs A. Ray Olpin of the University of Utah will hold their annual New Years Reception in the new Union Building on Jan. 1, between 2 and 5 p.m. cereA special ribbon-cuttinmony opening the $2.5 million structure will take place at 1:30. Following the ceremony, students, alumni, and faculty are invited to the president's reception. The new Union, built entirely with student funds, will be for mally dedicated the last week in February. The reception will be ward E. Morgan. Also in the receiving line was Steven Miner the bride's younger brother. The couple will reside in Salt Lake, where both will attend the University of Utah.
