' . There is nothing to indicate that the department' is going to do anything. If surveys are being made and counts taken so that the highway engineers will know, where the bottlenecks are and can figure out what to do about them, they keep the public completely unaware of their activities. , The public uses the roads, the public is interested in better control of traffic and more adequate highways, but the department takes the attitude that any improvement i$ none of the public's business until it is time to start construction. At that point any constructive suggestions are " -' shunted aside as "too late." ; We hope the department is busy watching traffic and judging what can be done to alleviate next year's jams. We'd feel a lot better if we knew for sure. . jam-packe- ! ! Notlanal AdmrthlBf RcorMMMfot WrnUy Mwipcpt UpmwtoUvn. iM m 11, N. t. , 4S4 flW Am., Ill N. tMcMgo. CWcot. IM. We Watch - f Curtis, end.
