Partners Sandy Resident Reaches 80th Year Await Concert William Grant Pennel Bradbury observed his 80th birth anniversary Monday, Dec. 17 at his home in Sandy. Mr. Bradbury, a son of William and Mary Ann Sophia Pennel Bradbury, was born in London, England, Dec. 17, 1871. At the age of 13 he started to make his own way and followed the skill brickl a y i n g Kv f5 J and carpentry. 1 i. 1 He was mar" Emily Berry of Hunting donshire, Eng. on April 6, 1896. Following their conversion to the LDS church by Mormon missionaries in England, Mr & Mrs Bradbury and three daughters, Emily, Elsie and Verna, left England and came to Utah. They have made their home in Sandy for 44 years. Mr Bradbury has followed the plumbing and heating trade for more than 50 years and is still actively engaged in that business, doing odd jobs. Even at his advanced age hi? was able to do work on the roof of the recently remodeled Sandy Thirdw ard chapel. He and his wife, who is a few months ills senior, love to travel. Ut-ahn- SANDY LADY LIONS ENJOY XMAS PARTY Members of the Sandy Lions club were entertained at a delightful Christmas party Wednesday evening at the new home of Mr & Mrs Kay C Beers, with Mrs Glen Carson and Mrs Beers as the hostesses. A hot dinner was served at a table decorated in keeping with Christmas, featuring miniatu r e Santa Claus's and reindeer. Games followed the dinner and prizes were awarded to Mrs Delores Ber-reand Mrs Ann Dclquadro. Pfc Clyde Child of the air force is spending the holidays with his parents. Another son, Pfc Grant Child of the 191st National Guard, expects to leave soon for Clovis, N M, as well as the of Mr & Mrs Child, Sec. Lt. Lloyd Slusher, husband of Donna Child, a member of the National Guard, who will also go to Clovis. A Christmas dinner was enjoyed at the Lindell home in Sandy by Mr & Mrs Michael Franeone of Long Beach, Calif., Mr & Mrs Allen Finlayson and son Robert; Mr & Mrs Campbell Stapley, Molly and Beatrice Lindell of Sandy and Mrs Annie Olson of Midvale. Mrs Ingrid Lindell is recovering at her home where she has been ill the past week. Mr & Mrs Michael Francone of Long Beach, Calif., are spending the holiday season with her mother, Mrs Ingrid Lindell. Mrs Fran-con- e returned this week from the St Marks hospital where she underwent a major operation. She is improving at the home of her mother. The Christmas cantata, "The Spirit of Jesus," was presented in Sandy First ward Sunday evening. Outstanding selections were by the ward choir under direction of scenes Lloyd Dimond. Pageant were directed by Mrs Francis Kunz and Isaac L Sorensen was reader. Next meeting of Sandy Lady Lions will be Jan 18, at 8 p m. It will feature a book review by Mrs Ora Pate Stewart The family of Mr & Mrs J Thorn as Ostler enjoyed a series of smor gasbord dinners Christmas day. Those in the group included Mr & Mrs J Thomas Ostler, James Ostler, Mr & Mrs Blaine II Berrett and daughters of Sandy, Mr & Mrs John Pollick and daughters and Mr & Mrs Kelvin J Drake and son of Midvale. Also Mr & Mrs Joseph L Ostler and family of Rose Park, Salt Lake City. The group was first entertained at the J L Ostler home in Salt Lake and later at the Drake and Pollick homes in Mid' vale, and at the Berrett and J T Ostler homes in Sandy, where gifts were exchanged by all those in attendance. A delightful visit is being en joyed by Kay Brady of the navy, and his wife, the former Miss Fay Ncff, who arrived early Sunday morning from Memphis, Tenn.
