Hawkins, who has been with the medical corp of the army in Korea the past year, is home on leave. He is visiting his mother, Mrs. Evelyn Smith, 4837 Poplar, and his grandmother, Mis. Nellie Collinsworth, 4712 So. 1st West. Paul entered the service in February of 1959. He will report to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Wednesday, Oct. 5th. Dr. and Mrs. Val Sundwall, 280 Mountain View Drive, were host and hostess. That evening they were further feted at a reception held in the home and garden of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Affleck, Holladay. The receiving line formed before a gilded electrified candelabra. French bouquets of pink gladioli and smilax cascaded trom the ceiling, and were caught to the candelabra with nosegays and smilax. The guests were served in the garden that was decorated with bird cages containing both live and imitation birds. Floral pieces with sheaves of golden wheat were used throughout. An original Victorian model of bouquet taffeta was selected by the bride. The floor length bouffant skirt was accented on either side by poofs of Swiss needlepoint. The softly molded bodice featured long lily pointed sleeves ii nd the neckline whs enhancer! point. A single strand of pearls was worn. Hose Point Venetian lace, a treasure of the Sundwall family, was worn for veiling, and fell from a pearlized crown of flowers. The bride received her schooling in Idaho and then at the University of Utah where she affiliated with Lambda Delta Sigma, and Nu Phi Epsilon. Her husband is a graduate of Murray high school and is now a d student at the hilltop school. They will both continue their studies. He has filled an LDS mission to Norway. It was kind of sad to watch that last little guy get ready for the beginning of a new episode in his life. He was readier for it than we were. Somehow, they are no longer so dependent on you, no longer a baby. Almost overnight they grow into a little man, a little man that resents your wanting to hold him in your arms again and cuddle him like you used to do. Yes, our house is awfully quiet. Even though he's only gone for half a day it seems like a long time before we se him come into view. But now we have time to sit down and enjay a cup of coffee with the neighbor who has her children off to school, too. We still haven't managed to break 40-da- ened WSMSWSSSSWWSS J Its possibl the one who misses his playmate the most is our faithful little mutt. He wanders about in a lost daze like he's looking for someone. First he tours the inside; knocks at the door to go outside and then comes back in to double check to see if he missed his buddy. The minute he does come home the pooch-erin- o doesn't let him out of his sight. At times it's almost comical a perfect picture of a boy to see the two of them out playing and his best friend! Thursday evening the newly-wed- s were further feted at a reception at the Reeeption Center, and over 900 guests called. An archway, entwined with greenery and tangerine hned flowers, formed a backdrop for the receiving line, and tangerand candelabra ine gladiolas were used throughout the rooms. P.ackground music was heard during the evening. The bride was gowned in a Princess styled model of white pure silk and satin, accented with insets of lace. The fitted bodice rose from an extremely bouffant skirt, and featured a pearl and crystal outlined neckline and long lily pointed sleeves. of Her crown, fashioned pearls, released an elbow lenpth veil of illusion. She carried an arm bouquet of salmon roses encircling a white orchid. Included In the bridal attendants, were Mrs. Dee El Stapley as matron of honor and Miss Kaye Nielson. the bride's sister as maid of honor: and Miss Sally Huntington and Miss Flame Nielson, another sister of the bride, as bridesmaids. Petite Misses Gaylc Phillips snd Karen K. Nielson, were (lower girls. The attendants were attired in gowns of highly polished cotton, featuring tangerine sheath skirls, short sleeves anil low necklines. Nosegays of sal-bronze chrysanthemums, ' moil roses encircled with dark gilded leaves were carried. The little flower girls also wore tsnperine frocks, but featured short full skirts. They' held miniature nosegays, similar to the other attendants. Ted Jacobsen was best man, and Glen Meachcm, David Par-- 1 rish, Craig Park and Vaughn Nielson, brother of the bride, ushered. Junior ushers included Keith and Val Nielson, brothers of the bride, and Val Swensen, brother of the groom. Mrs. Nielson wore a melon lace dress, underscored with taffeta, and the groom's mother chose a bronze embossed chiffon sheath. They both wore corsages of glamelias with cascading white stephanotis. Mrs. Weldon Timothy and Miss Wilms Cook greeted the guests at the bride's book. The gift room was under the direction of 'the Mesdamcs Jim n Tolhurst, Allan Beck and Phillips. Mrs. Eldon C. A second reception was given for them at the Newton Ward meeting house. For the postnuptial events the bride was attired in a floor-lengt- h gown of silk organza and chantilly lace. Features of the molded bodice were long sleeves tapering to lily points over the wrists and a rounded neckline outlined in lace. Her veil of illusion edged In lace was caught to a crown studded with jewels. She carried a white orchid surrounded carnations. by coral-hue- d Attending the bride were Mrs. Stanley B.
