Mrs. Vivian Tuft South Cottonwood Area in the News By Mrs. Leah Johns The members of the South Cottonwood ward were pleasecT last Sunday evening, to have the choir from Garden View ward in Midvale, present the music and the speaker for Sunday evening meeting. The choir was directed V. Dale Waters, who anby nounced the program and introduced the speaker, Elder Glen-do- n M. Campbell, a recently re turned missionary from the Southern States and a member of the choir. The congregation sang the opening song after which John T. Barrett offered the invoca tion. The Sacrament song, pre sented by a ladies trio, was "Hear Us Pray". For a special number the choir sang a selection from 'Finlandia" by Siebelieus. The family of Mr. and Mrs. Glen lYck were welcomed as members of the ward. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clark en joyed a visit from their small grandchildren, Steven and Susan Van Bezooyen of Salt Lake, this week. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Lind were happy this week to have a re turned missionary, Elder Gor ringe, from the Japanese mission call on them and bring news of their daughter and son and family, Mr. and Mrs Vinal Mauss, who are m charg of the Japanese mission. The missionary reported that the Mauss family is well and enjoy ing the work in the mission fielA In a recent letter to her parents Mrs. Mauss reported that she and her husband had been quests at the open house reception given by General Ridgway at his head quarters in Tokyo, just prior to his leaving to join in the peace talks with other government of ficial3 and army personnel. Mrs. Roger Hansen had the misfortune to break her foot last week, and is now confined to her home. Mrs. Anna Olsen, a former resident of South Cottonwood, has been visiting friends here the past week. She has been the guest of Mrs. Rena Wheeler.
