Cum-berled- i Smith-Hughe- - - All citizens of Murray are urged to cast their votes at the bond election Saturday, September 24. At a mass meeting held last Monday evening at the Murray .school auditorium, the high Board of Education discussed the plan, explaining that the forthcoming election is on the bond issue for $96,000 and not on the centralization of elementary schools into one building. "The money can be used for one or more school buildings or for repairing old buildings," Dr. James Clove, superintendent of schools, said. "If the citizens of Murray desire new schools, and they have expressed the opinion that they do, they must first approve of the bond issue. After that they can decide whether they want one or more school buildings." The United States Government will give 45 per cent of the original proposal of $215,000 as a free grant to Murray. The government does not ask for any reimbursement of this money. Many people at the meeting Monday approved the $90,(HK) bond issue but disagreed as to whether the money should be spent for one or more school buildings. A committee was chosen from each school to contact voters in each school zone and explain the details of the project to them. The committee is to report their find ns on the question of centralization of schools at the next Board of Education meeting. Committees include Mrs. Verl and Mrs. Clyde F. McMillan Marsden, Arlington; Mrs. Lillian Baker and Mrs. Amelia Young-berBonnyview; Mr. Hilmer Larson and Dr. McLeod Killpack, Liberty. s A meeting was held at the Grant ward Thursday evening for the Liberty school for the purposecon-of making clear any matters cerning the flectlion.
