Mrs. Donald Huntington and children flew to South Carolina Sunday to meet her husband who is station there with the U S Navy. Mrs. Huntington has been staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne The of Garrison. Gonder Gonders have also enjoyed a visit from their other daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dorian Faber and children. The Fabers spent two weeks in Garrison before flying to France for a month's stay. They left the two youngest children with their grandparents in Garrison. Mrs. James Dearden is staying in Salt Lake recuperating from surgery. Mrs. Lorraine Hidy returned from a week's visit to Salt Lake. Miss Darlene Olson of Tooele is visiting her grandmother. According to Nick Rykavich and Ralph Gubler, both of our wonderful Ely, fishing around here wasn't so hot last week end. We've had a regular monsoon season here for the past two weeks, with heavy rains every day. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Osborn and hired man are still marooned on their ranch on Big Wash after cloudbursts washed their road out. Saturday night lightning struck Baker several times, and it split a tree in two in the church yard, hit a transformer, wrecked two television sets, cut power lines in two and blew half the light bulbs and fuses in town. Sunday night downpours caused extensive flooding at the John Eldridge and Bryan Robison ranches.
