The Battle of Okinawa was the last great land campaign of World War II. The exhibit views combat on Okinawa from the perspective of the "citizen soldiers" who first helped liberate Leyte Island in the Philippines in late 1944 before assaulting Okinawa on April 1, 1945 as part of Tenth U.S. Army.
