Show Times 0 Hilltop 30, 2002 3 May Commentary Correction strengthens team effort Nabbed by Ron Speaks and turn these negatives or shortcomings into assets and P Team are constrengths. General Bergren and our fident that we can do this, and do it as well as anybody. During this inspection period, our team has often reminded us just how good Team Hill is. Our team John Parish, Aircraft Directorate; Benny Jones, Claude Young and Mike Oaks, Ogden ALC Logistics Quality Division In preparation for the June 20 Maintenance Standardization Evaluation Program inspection, our very own P Inspection Team has looked in nearly every nook and cranny that exists on Hill AFB. The team's assignment was to identify our weak spots and help 1 Pre-MSE- rules for maintenance management, technical data, tools, test, personnel qualification and training. During the May 8 commander's call, Maj. Gen. Scott Bergren reminded all of us just how good we Hill Fielders are at what we do. He spoke of our importance, and how vital the role is that we play in our nation's defense. The general advised us that the Air Force's global mission is changing. With confidence, he challenged us to continue doing our professional best. Our Inspection Team has confidence in us, too. They observed and recorded hundreds of outstanding deeds and people making their contributions to Ogden Air Logistics Center. However, that is the easy part. The hard part of being P on the Team is pointing out the negatives to us. It is no doubt equally as hard to take this criticism. In my younger days, grandpa would make me take a dose of castor oil, and say, 1 know it's hard to swallow, but son, this is for your own good." This is very much like that, it's hard to swallow the criticism, "but it's for our own good." We take this information, make corrections here and there, . o Pre-MSE- P Pre-MSE- Hill .... Electronic Directorate; Tim Irwin, Gerald Nisogi, Ken Rauzi, Greg Noall and Phyllis Snell, Logistics Management Directorate has also done an outstanding job. The keeps track of their findings and offer a tally, or a scoreboard total. As good as we are, by early May, the team had recorded 1,831 findings areas that need improvement, including 511 tool discrepancies, 235 safety findings; and problems with 219 work control documents. Twenty-twdays remain before the MSEP inspection. We in know P can pass this inspection. The we team LGQ and its leaders are confident and know that you can do it, General Bergren, Tom Miner and all of the Senior Management at Ogden ALC know that you can do it. We have an opportunity to show headquarters that we aren't backing down, that we aren't in retreat, and that we look forward to the challenge of the inspection. We all know that we Team Hill produces nothing but top quality products each and every day. This is our chance to prove to AFMC Headquarters and Air Force that we are indeed the best When the next round of Base Realignment and Closure Committees convene, let their voices be heard loud and clear before Congress and throughout the Department of Defense, that Hill is and will continue to be an integral part of our nation's defense.
