"Air Force people building the world's most respected air and space force ... global power and reach for America," is the vision for the Air Force of today and tomorrow. I completely support this vision, and firmly believe that it will guide the Air Force through the challenges we are currently facing, and well into the coming years. We in Air Force Logistics Command are joining the rest of the Air Force in downsizing, streamlining and reorganizing to become an even more efficient flying and fighting force. Beginning July 1, we will integrate with the Air Force Systems Command to become Air Force Material Command. Strategic Air Command, Tactical Air Command and Military Airlift Command will become Air Combat Command and Air Mobility Command, eliminating the distinction between tactical and strategic air power. Ron A. Frost DMD ) (sCi Ac? ' 1991 United The road ahead of the Air Force is full of change. The kinds of changes reflected in the new vision point to a restructured, leaner, meaner fighting force. I believe that one key in achieving this goal is Total Quality Management. As the winners of the President's Award for Quality, AFLC has set a precedent for the entire Department of Defense. By implementing the methods of TQM, the Air Force is leading the way in the restructuring of the U.S. military. I'm confident that AFLC people will commit to making the new Air Force vision a reality. By remembering it, and believing in it, we can accomplish the tasks that lie before us, as well as remain the best Air Force in the world. General Charles C.
