Show ACTION LINEEXT. 77000 team Integrity mandatory? reserv ist, I was recently asked to participate QAs ani Air Force Logistics Command site survey Is team. A message went out indicating that team integrity must be maintained, but several organizations would not honor it. What is the Air Force definition of integrity, and is it just a nice thing to have or is it mandatory? n A eppears that the main point here is the term "team integrity," which is a billeting term. Joe Herbert, chief of billeting, said that it is covered in Air Force Regulation 90-9- , Chapter 4. Basically it states that they must support team integrity on orders for aircrews. They will try to support team integrity on other orders of groups of people if it is operationally feasible, but it is not required. You may contact Mr. Herbert for additional details at Ext. 73967. This will help me better serve your interests through the ACTION LINE. of the Time and Attendance " Reporting System on Dec. 27 was to ensure all employees received their pay on a timely basis. Timely payment without would have been impossible in view of the Jan. 1, 1991, holiday. For your information, all air logistics centers at the end of this pay period to ensure their people received timely pay service. Another reason for on Dec. 27 was because many people were off for the holidays and the computer system was not up and running at all times during this pay period. The inconvenience of not receiving some overtime pay was unfortunate; however, receiving your regular paycheck and overtime up until Friday was our utmost concern. We did not want a single employee to go without a paycheck during this holiday period. Any overtime you missed on this pay period was received on the following pay period. The also provided time to correct any before the problems payroll was run. We .tried to make time on Dec. 27 to certify and run M0 reports by extending the time from noon to 7 p.m. Computer accessibility problems should have been reported to the 1881st Communication-Compute- r Systems Group, If you or your time clerks have a problem with the Time and Attendance Reporting System, you should contact your area cost accountant. If I have an accident, will I be covered by workmen's compensation, since it's their fault that I have to leave base and then come back to get my check? Everything possible is done to distribute paychecks five work days after the end of the pay period in ' We did not accordance with Air Force Regulation 176-1fiscal 1990 all of miss this regulatory requirement during 1991. On payday Dec. 28, the checks were not available until 1 p.m., well within regulatory guidance, but later than normal The NAF Central Payroll Office, located at Randolph AFB, Texas, is currently working on a central payroll system to not only centralize NAF payroll processing, but to take advantage of electronic funds transfer capability. We are excited about the proposed system because it will offer NAF employees the ability to gain access to their pay at the bank of their choice on payday mornings. Could you the fact that there are now two prefixes to correct this help problem? Q We have been aggressively working this problem, but old habits are hard to break. Many people still only give out the last four numbers of their phone number, assuming we still have only one telephone prefix at Hill AFB. We have put notices in the base bulletin twice, in the base paper twice, and on PROFS several times. We will continue to educate the base population that we have two commercial prefixes, 777 and 775, and two Defense Switched Network (previously AUTOVON) prefixes, 458 and 924 respectively. y 0 on-bas- taste Paintings show had 100 in the NERDS area are The paintings in Bldg. not in very good taste. Can something be done to get the lift repaired as expeditiously as possible? Give us some advance notice understand Air Force Logistics Command may directing that all computers be administered under the 1881st Communication-Compute- r Systems Group. This would dramatically affect all organizations on base. Since the workers who operate the equipment might also be joining SC. would it be possible to publish something that would let us know what is going on so we can prepare ourselves for how it may affect our lives and jobs? QI J Air Force Program Action Directive 90-4- , June 18, 1990, implements the secretary of the Air Force's decision to restructure the management of Air Force communications and computers. This PAD required that major command computer organizations be made "functionally responsible for all MAJCOM, Single Operating Agency, and Direct Reporting Unit, Commander, Control, Communications, and Computer (C4) systems, including MAJCOM, SOA and DRU unique communications and JF" tomputer activities." As you may have noticed, the implementation plan has not yet been fully defined. Consequently, we do not know exactly which computer resources (hardware, software facilities and people) will be involved. All actions required by Ogden Air Logistics Center regarding PAD 90-- 4 will be communicated through our local working group and sent through the ALC steering group in which each director is represented and the board of directors that I chair for final decision. The PAD required implementation be completed by Nov. 1, 1991. I solicit the cooperation of everyone involved in order that the transfer of responsibility can be accomplished in a timely and orderly fashion. 4. 1 to get i The lift in question, outside bay B, Bldg. 100 east JMl entrance has had a problem with the door not opening properly. Feb. 15. 1991 Use disposable razors for hair cuts son gets his hair cut at the base exchange shop and I notice that the barbers there do not use disposable razors. Considering the diseases that are transferred by blood, would it be possible to correct QMy this situation? The Army-Ai- r Force Exchange Service standard policy in barber shops is to use the clipper around the ears and neck area. Upon customer request, the neck and ear area is shaved with a disposable razor. AAFES barbers are knowledgeable of the disposable razor equipment for shaving and have holders that resemble straight razors, but all blades used are disposable. This policy is adhered to and if you notice that it is not, please contact Sandra Brightshue at Ext. 73907 immediately. yi r Ticket illegally parked cars 0 There are never any customer parking slots available when we go the Crossroads Restaurant to eat, and yet when you go inside there are only a couple of people in there. It is really frustrating because we only have 30 minutes to eat and get back to work. Who is responsible for ensuring base employees park only in designated areas, and can some tickets be issued to stop the illegal parking? The base restaurant is also upset when people illegally park"1n spaces reserved for their patrons. Tickets have been issued by restaurant employees. As to who is responsible for ensuring the base employee parks only in designated areas each of us, as responsible drivers and adults, should acce.pt the responsibility. Open Southwest Gate earlier of us walk to work and would like to be able through the Southwest Gate before the it guards open at 6 a.m. Could the gate be opened for pedestrians before 6 a.m? QSome While we would like to open these gates earlier, we 1 do not have the manpower to open any earlier than 6 a.m., which is the time established to facilitate commercial traffic onto the base. If the security police do arrive prior to the scheduled opening time, they open both the Southwest and Roy Gates for pedestrian and bicycle traffic only. I encourage those of you who use these modesUf transportation to wear reflectorized clothing during the hours of darkness, Snow removal a hassle the snow between the in plow buildings QWhen theyarea, they always leave the snow piled in the middle, which is not only inconvenient but also hazardous. Cars get stuck and you run the risk of hitting another car and having icicles fall on your car. They need to either not plow between the buildings at all or clean up the strip of snow down the middle. Can something be done to correct this problem? The 1200 area is the most difficult to clear because of the limited space between buildings. Over the years several methods have been tried, ranging from plowing everything to one side of the road, to not plowing at all. The current method of moving the snow to the middle of the road and hauling.it away has had the best results, although it too has drawbacks. To help ease the driving and parking situation until the snow can be trucked away, it will take the effort of all who work in the 1200 area. Parking should be limited to parallel parking only. This reduces the number of parking spaces that are available, but it provides clearance for through traffic, especially on narrower streets. We apologize for the inconvenience, but ask that you bear with us. Our snow removal crews clear the 1200 area as soon as manpower and priorities allow. Incidentally, the safety officer has sent several notices to all reminding them of the danger of icicles. When you see them on your building, please notify the building manager and ask that they be removed. You are correct; they are not only a danger to your vehicle, but a safety |
