Show I s NEWS Jan. 18, 1551 H,::t;p Times MWR division requires card for civilian patrons Civilian patrons of the Hess Fitness Center will be required to purchase and use a Morale, Welfare and Recreation card after Feb. 1. The cost of the card, which is dependent upon pay grade, will be S7 or SI 3. The card is being introduced to increase revenues for MWR. A user fee for civilians using the center was suggested by a committee of civilian and military leaders. The card is simply an easy and inexpensive way of levying a fee without starting a billing system, which could be expensive. The center was built with Air Force funds to accommodate military members and their families, said Jim Stevenson, MWR division chief. Civilian employees have been allowed to use the center on a space-availabl- e Officers' Recently, however, this policy has led to severe overcrowding at the center. The West side Fitness Center was opened to help alleviate the center's crowding. The Westside center has helped, but hasn't eliminated the problem, Mr. Stevenson said.
