Show Lehi Free Press New Utah! - Mike Gray and Amy Walker Amanda marry Justin Jones Thursday to marry in SLC LDS Temple Buckwafter will Steve and LeeAnn Buckwalter of American Fork are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amanda, to Justin Jones, son of Joseph and Patricia Jones of Copperton, on Thursday, June 10, in the Mount Timpanogos LDS Temple. A reception will honor the couple that same evening from 7 to 9 at the Harbor 3rd Ward, 600 S. 100 West, American Fork. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Attending the bride will be Jenny and Jessica Buckwalter, Angie and Tara Jones and Crystal Piatt. Best man duties will be performed by Russell Bezzant, with Barry Hansen and Travis Winkler serving as groomsmen. e The is a graduate of American Fork High School and LDS Seminary. The prospective groom is a graduate of Bingham High School. He served an LDS mission in Perth, Australia and will continue his education at Salt Lake Community College. She is working at L.W.'s Chevron in Lehi. by Julie Loveridge Lehi High School seniors garnered over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships this year. Over 80 students were awarded 120 scholarships to 12 different colleges and universities totaling $253,556. The scholarships were announced during the school's Evening of Excellence awards night Tuesday, May 18. Clint McKell captured the largest single scholarship award with a football scholarship to Utah State University valued at $34,500. Amy Scadden was offered two scholarships with a combined value of $42,000, and Jaclyn Hunt was awarded six scholarships totaling $22,082. Tricia Henrie, Jamee Russon, Lokini also and Beatrice tuition received full or near-fuscholarships. Universities offering scholarships to Lehi students include Brigham Young University (6); ll Utah Valley State College (31); Snow College (24); Dixie College (14); University of Utah (4); Westminster College (2); Southern Utah University (7); Utah State University (5); College of Eastern Utah (10); Ricks College (2); Applied Technology (1); and the University of Redlands (1). An impressive number of students were also presented awards for outstanding performances in academics, athletics, arts, and applied sciences. "This is a testament to the strength of our youth," said Principal Worthington at the conclusion of the evening. "Our students have excelled in many areas."
