Greene of American Fork celebrated his 80th birthday Saturday, March 27, at a family dinner at the home of his son in Fon Elvin Cook will celebrate his 90th birthda with his family at a gathering in Cedar Fort. Fon was born April 2, 1909 in Cedar Fort, the third child of Earl and Martha Hacking Cook. He graduated from Lehi High School in 1927 and BYU in 1939 with a B.S. degree in history and a minor in political Lehi. He was born March 31, 1919 in Pleasant Grove to Herman and Maud Green. He was the oldest of five children. He attended schools in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1937. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He married Beth Rushton Oct. 24, 1942 in Yakima, Wash. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 18, 1946. To this marriage came five children: Janet (Lynn) Darling, West Jordan; Kim James Caroline science. While a member at of ""-ha- lf ore-ha- lf northern California. Fon is an avid reader who loves history and has a great knowledge of the scriptures and LDS Church doctrine. For a year during the Depression, Fon took the job of running a snow grader to clear the snow from the road between Rail Hill (Lehi) and Cedar Fort. The snow plow was pulled by six head of horses, four behind and two on the lead. It took a Ifull day to go over and back to ; keep the road open. They were blessed with four children: Darrell and Brian Cook, Cedar Fort; Blaine (Maria) Cook and LaNae (Mrs. Brad) Kirkham, American Fork. He has six grandchildren. Fon has been a farmer and rancher his entire life.
