A community information meeting addressing those issues is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, from 9 p.m. at the Mt. View High School portable classroom unit' west of the school, 665 West Center, Orem. Though invitations have been sent specifically to ecclesiastical, educational, and civic leaders throughout Utah county, all interested individuals are encouraged to attend. Six sessions will be repeated every half hour and cover a range of topics from identifying domestic violence to help available for both the victim and the abuser. Speakers will include Chiefs Kip Botkin and John Durrant, of the and American Fork police departments speaking on the issue of "Domestic Violence and Law Enforcement". "Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Affects of Abuse" will be addressed by Dr. David Hafen, American Fork Clinic; Jerry Harris, LDS Church Social Services; and Reverend Dean Jackson, Chaplain, Provo Police Department.
