Show i'i"fiiiiri'i"i Lehi Free Press New Utah! For many years, members of the local American Legion post have been placing flags at the graves of each deceased veteran on Memorial Day. As the number of deceased veterans grew, graves were harder to locate and some of the veterans were occasionally not honored. At that point, American Legion Post 19 officials decided to place flags in a central location in memory of their deceased comrades. Although the latter practice has been faithfully followed each year, the veterans have decided to erect a permanent memorial at the Lehi City to assist the man with what appeared to be car trouble explained when apprehended that he ran because he feared that there were warrants out for his arrest. Smart man: there were three such warrants, totaling more than $1,000! Unfortunately, he had a little extra baggage beside the warrants in the form of a marijuana pipe and a plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance; the drug and paraphernalia charges, along with the warrants, landed the man in the Utah County Jail. A Lehi man was cited for domestic violence assault after allegedly inserting a vegetable in his wife's mouth in a rather forceful mannerAfter explaining his side of the story to police, the man chose their option of a citation, along with his promise not to cause any more problems. Police investigated a possible forgery when an employee of a local business reported that a check had been returned by the company's bank. "Black-ie- " Harris, American Legion Post 19 is working to create a granite monument, complete with the flag and insignia of each of the five branches of service surrounding a lighted radio-controlle- the Thanksgiving Point railway which could serve as a gift shop and a headquarters for the hobby group. Construction of the railway is slated to begin in April 1999 and culminate in October 2000. on his own. BYU engineering students are being enlisted to help build bridges and other structures. The few dozen members of the Utah Garden Railway Society, a fledgling club of model train enthusiasts, are eager to donate their labor. Junior King attendants are Curtis Jex, 1st, and Coby Wilson 2nd, with Rachel Peck as 1st, and Lindsey Robinson as 2nd attendant to the Junior Queen. Homecoming festivities this year- range from traditional., Pajama and Nerd days to lunch-timtricycle races; obstacle courses, pie eating contests,-and karaoke concerts. Tonight's activities include a powder puff football game and a car bash at 7 p.m. at the i e ? school. Tomorrow night will bring the traditional homecoming bonfire at 8:30 p.m.; this year's bonfire has been moved to Thanksgiving Point's parking estimated at approximately $20,000 and can be completed with donated labor; some funding may be available through county grants, but that source is not guaranteed.
