Show Immunization clinics offered in area Smith's Food and Drug, Inc., and the American Red Cross have joined forces to help assure that patients in Utah hospitals have blood available for transfusions when they need them. In jointly sponsored community blood drives, the American Red Cross will bring its blood-- , mobile bus to Smith's locations across the state of Utah in September and early October. The local blood drives will take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Smith's location in Amer Marriage ican Fork on Sept. 14 and in Pleasant Grove on Sept. 15. Anyone interested in donating should stop by the service desk at Smith's to schedule an appointment. The potential donor must be 18 years of age (or 17, with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health. The donation process takes about an hour. If all the drives meet their goals, Smith's and the American Red Cross will collect more than 1200 pints of blood during their relationship. The class will last for three sessions, with par need for blood. Everyone can spare an hour and a pint of blood to help his or her community.
