He served in the U.S. Army during World War II on the island of Attu in Alaska. He later moved where he was to California employed by and retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in the Bishopric and most other auxil- - iaries. His retirement years were spent sharing his talents with others as a member of the Skyline Barbershop Chorus and playing banjo with the Silver Strings Banjo Band. Duane is survived by his wife "Dee" of Pleasant Grove, three sons and two daughters: Richard Lynn (Jan) Clark, Lompoc, Calif; Crystal Louise (Rollin) Latta, Mesa, Arizona; Stanley Jay Clark, California; Karen Lee Helm, Pleasant Grove; Gary Dale (Terri) Clark, Carson City, Nevada; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Douglas Ryan Clark. Duane was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. His hugs will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 2, 1997 in the Pleasant Grove Ninth Ward Chapel, Pleasant Grove. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. He loved to camp, hunt, and was a member of Utahah Frontiersmen, a muzzle loading club. He was involved with scouting for the last 12 years. James was involved with Emma C. Mangum Emma Carlton Mangum, 87, Lehi, died July 31, 1997 in American Fork of heart failure. was She born Oct. 5, Colonial P o c h e c o t.- - lv 1971. She was a homemaker and had worked as a salesperson at the Western Auto and Kress stores. She served in the LDS Church as January a Primary teacher and Relief Society teacher. She loved quilting, crocheting, and was a member of a gem and mineral club. Survivors include one son and two daughters: Jerry D.
