Johnson, and sponsored by the Pleasant Grove Arts Council, will present its annual spring concert on April 22 and 7:30 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Jr. High School auditorium. The orchestra will perform Tschaikowsky"s 5th Symphony and the evening will feature selected solo perfor in a n c e s . Tschaikowsky is known for his expression of the romantic ideal in his symphonies J 11 with I Walker, Kori Chesnut and Kaye Pead. Back row: Mark Ford and Dennis Purdie. PG Players to stage comedy spring offering is "Cheating Cheaters," a comedy by John Patrick, performing April 18, 19, 21, 25, 26 and 28, at 7 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Public Library auditorium, 30 E. Center. Two nuns living on the top floor of an aging building in a big city are engaged in raising funds (panhandling) to keep their niece at college in Europe. A young, agile man drops in from the roof to rob their "kitty" and is caught by one of the nuns. He had assumed they were ladies of the night and is apologetic for his mistake. Shortly thereafter the other nun is arrested and escorted to the apartment by a street cop who proves to be on the take and exposes the nuns as fakes. Eventually the four form a conglomerate to make money by buying buildings, etc. Lo and behold, their niece shows up with startling information, frustrating all their plans for gaining riches. The final solution is one you'll want to see. The play stars Angela Walker, Kaye Pead, Mark Ford, Dennis Kori and Chesnut Purdie, Gertrude. The play is produced and directed by Keith Christeson, 785-292- Children's Choir to perform The Utah Children's Choir will present its annual Spring Concert at the Provo Tabernacle on Saturday, April 26, at 8 p.m. The choir recently returned from Washington, D.C., where they competed in the Heritage Festival. They were awarded the Gold Award, first place in Children's Choir category, Most Outstanding Choir and Adjudicators Award for highest number of points of all choirs participating. The children's choirs, accompanied by Carole Haney and Heidi Boyd, with Marilyn Rudolph as vocal coach, will be featuring of works David Willcocks, Diabetes Schubert, Greig and Dvorak. They will be singing the Spanish Mass by Francisco Nunez and Reeds of Innocence by Mullholand, with Martha Sergeant on oboe. All three choirs will perform. The choir was established in 1984 under the direction of Kay Asay. During this time they have traveled throughout the U.S., performing at various events. The choir now consists of 58 members, ages ranging from eight to 15. The public is invited to attend the concert. Public donations will be accepted at the door, $3.50 for individuals and $12 per family.
