PETERSON "Go for what you want, but go all the way, is the motto of Shelley Bartholomew this week's Pioneer Profile. Shelley is the daughter of Royce and Denise Bartholomew of Alpine. An motivated, and optimistic senior, Shelley was recently selected as Lehi High's Sterling Scholar in Family, Consumer, and Health Sciences. She is also a member of the FHA club, National Honor Society, and girl's soccer team. In soccer, Shelley was a major team player who contributed to hard-workin- g, out-goin- g, 1996 Lehi State High's Championship win. As a result of her soccer abilities, Shelley was selected Athlete of the Week and received the Academic Soccer Team Award. She is also a three time recipient of Who's Who Among American High School Students and has received the National English Merit Award. While maintaining a 3.93 grade point average, Shelley has taken advanced placement classes in and Language English Composition and history. Shelley is an active member of the Alpine 3rd Ward where she has All-Sta- served in her Young Women's class presidencies, received several class awards, and participated in many service projects. She is currently working on her Young Women's """" ' V Recognition Award. In community activities, Shelley is currently a math tutor at the Lehi library. She has also volunteered her time at the Food Coalition Center in Provo and at a homeless shelter in Salt Lake City. Shelley's hobbies include participating in soccer, water and snow skiing, sewing, making crafts, watching movies, and being with friends. She also works part time Shelley Bartholomew at Kencraft, Inc. in Alpine, Utah. In the future, Shelley plans to graduate from college with a master's degree in Secondary Education in either home economics or mathematics. The music and dance departments at Lehi High School are sponsoring "Broadway Magic" dinner theater. Tickets for the dinner theater are $8 per person; tickets for the theater presentation only are at $5 per person. priced Reservations for the dinner theater must be made by today (Wednesday) by calling the school, Tickets for the program will be available at the door. Broadway Magic features songs from various shows, such as Newsies and Grease. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., with the program starting at 7:30 p.m. 768-700- 0. Church Riews FJ P yJJ Lehi Stake R.S. preparing for ' w conference The Lehi Utah Stake Relief Society is sponsoring its annual Women's Conference on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. until noon in the Lehi Stake Center, 200 N. Center. "Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful" will be the theme of the conference. Becky Reeve, author of The Spirit Knows No Handicap will be the keynote speaker. Sisters participating in the conference are asked to bring a canned or packaged food item and any book for donations to those in need. Wilcox is an assistant professor in the teacher education department at Brigham Young University and works extensively with youth programs, such as Especially for Youth. He served a mission to Chile and is now married; he and his wife have four children. He serves as the first counselor in the bishopric of his ward. Wilcox had his first book published when he was 18, and has since written other books and tapes. He has spoken to youth throughout the US, Canada, Japan and South America. Elder Kenneth R.
