Show Additional obituaties on pages Obituaries Ruby Iris Colledge Costanzo, 1 Alice Ellen Sjoberg Cunningham Simper, born March 29, 1903 in Murray to Carl V and Elin Aki'rliiid and a member of the 49'ers Club in Salt Lake City. Survivors include two sons and one daughter Gaylen (Susan) Lewis, Bakersfield, Calif; George (Ann) Costanzo, Reno, Nev.; Madeline Costanzo, Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; 12 greatsisters: Olive grandchildren; Lamb, Sandy; Marjorie (Les) Austill, Salt Lake City: Inez (Don) Jensen, Pleasant Grove; sisters-in-laLenore Colledge, Lehi; Emma Columbus, Salt Lake City; brothers-in-law, Art (Darlene) Costanzo, Salt Lake City; Bill (Anne) Costanzo, Magna. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, at noon in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, 118 E. Main, Lehi, where friends may call one hour prior to services. They were later divorced. She married Peter Costanzo Feb. 10, 1947 in Salt Lake City. He died Feb. 10, 1996. Ruby was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and special friend. She was a cook in the restaurant business for many years. She enjoyed handiwork and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the LDS Church Cemetery. John H. Thompson John H. Thompson, 69, a resident of Pleasant Grove for two years, passed away Sunday morn ing, Aug. 11, 1996 following a heart attack. He was born Oct. 21, 1926 in Malta, Idaho to J. and Henry Lora Harmon Thompson. He married Etta Gill Barner in the Los Angeles LDS Temple March 11, 1961. He received a B.S. degree and a Master's degree from BYU and a Doctor of Education degree from Utah State University. As an administrator and professor at Ricks College, Rexburg, Idaho, he served as assistant director of Public Relations and director of the Program Bureau for 13 years, followed by 14 years as a popular teacher of child development, family relations and religion. Before his move to Rexburg, he worked for the LDS Church Education System as a seminary teacher in Idaho Falls, Idaiio, and an institute director in Reno. He also taught high school math and music in Malta, Ida'io and Riverside, Calif. mise He served two sions for the LDS Church in the East Central States Mission from 1946-194- 8 AUthe,, and 1952-195time of his death, he was serving as a volunteer at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple open house. He had served as a bishop, high councilman, stake mission president, stake executive secretary and most recently as assistant high priest group leader in the Timpanogos 5th Ward. He sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir during its first tour to Europe in 1955. He was a member of the 1960 "Curtain Time, USA" show from BYU which enter- full-tim- tained American servicemen throughout the Orient. He organized and conducted a community Thanksgiving choir. The hour-lon- g Through "Worship program, Music," was presented on Thanksgiving morning every year in Rexburg for nearly 30 years. He loved leading choirs and performing with his sisters and brothers and other family members. He was chairman of the Madison Idaho, County, Republicans for seven years. He and his wife, Etta, also took LDS Church history tours for youth to Nauvoo, Illinois and Palmyra. N.Y. He is survived by his wife; six children: Randie Krogel and husband, Greg, of Tumining, Guam; Scott Barner and wife, Sharlene, Sacramento; Carrie Johnson and husband, Jeff, Layton; Shelley Ovard and husband, David, Layton; Tawney Droubay and husband, Gary, Bitburg, Germany; and Wade Thompson and wife, Chene, Sandy. He is also survived by sisters, Janie Thompson and Carolyn Joseph Lee, Provo; brothers: Thompson, Spanish Fork; Robert Thompson, Burley, Idaho; and Samuel Thompson, Boise, Idaho; Theodre and Lucille Barner, Black Diamond, Wash. He has 16 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, a sister, Dorothy Collier, and a son, John Hugh. Alice grew TBI up in Pleasant Grove and attended the hcal sihools She went to work in the home of Governor Dern in Salt Lake City soon after she graduated from high school. She enjoyed the associati n she had with that family. Alice was enlisted during World War II to work for Kennecott Copper in the carpenter shop, as so many men went overseas to fight. She married Joseph Patrick Cunningham in 1938. He Inter died. She lived in Bingham and Magna for many years before moving to Pleasant Grove.
