Heather said there was a change in priests at the church and there was going to be a one month period between priests and so it was necessary to move as the parents could not go one month without a place for their children to go. Heather and many of the children she had at St. Peter's are now a part of the Tot Cottage Daycare Center and Rainbow Conservatory preschool at 460 N. State St. in Lindon. The center is owned by Terri Brinkerhoff. Heather said that when the American Fork Children's Center announced it was closing, there were tears and fears among the parents as well as the staff. They had developed a close bond and they all wanted to remain together. At the same time, the enrollment at the Tot Cottage had dropped to an uncomfortable low. Parents who had children at the AFCC began to inquire about the Tot Cottage, they were welcomed enthusiastically. Heather called to confirm the openings so she could refer addi-tonparents, and an interesting conversation ensued which result al ed in the merger of the two child-car- e centers. "We got their children, their staff and even their wonderful director," Terri said, "many of whom have been together for years." Heather noted that she has had some of the children in her center since they were infants. with a dual degree in Elementary Education Childhood and Early Development, Heather is looking forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead. Heather said they will have better class sizes. They will have about seven chidlren in each group. They have separate lesson plans for each age group. They have both a day care and a preschool but most of the day care chldren are enrolled in the preschool, Heather said.
