Show Area artists named as winners in American Fork Art Show Area artists earned honors for their entries in American Fork's Centennial Celebration art show. John Martin earned Best of Show for his oil painting of "Mother and Child." Alan Reinhold was honored for hi hictnriral Hpnirtinn nf "Star Flour Mill Tradition," while the popular "People's Choice" award was presented to Cory Clawson for his bronze sculpture of "The Knight." Professional awards went to Randv Blackburn. Dallvn Zundel. John Martin, Melody Johnson, Dawn Lauriann Harward, Nola Wakefield. Rates Brian Sullivan, Sharon Cannon, Shirley . Pi lAti Hill 11 '1 1 ' activities Pioneer Day activities on Wednesday, July 24 will start with a rodeo slack at 8 a.m. and will include poles, barrels, break away, calf roping and team roping. The only senior event will be open barrel racing. There is no charge for spectators to attend. The parade will start at 11 a.m., one hour earlier than usual. The parade starts at the intersection of 100 West and 100 North; the parade will proceed along 100 West to Center Street, where it turns east, proceeding along Center Street to 100 East. Following the parade, the carnival will be held at the school playing field. Tickets will be available at the carnival for 25 cents each. In addition to a fish pond and cake walk, the carnival will include games such as three-legge- d races, arm wrestling, wood and water sawine and melon eating contests in honor of the centennial of the state. The carnival will also include a lunch, which consists of sloppy joes, corn, potato chips and a drink. Rodeo action will start at 4 p.m. with the junior rodeo, followed by the senior rodeo immediately after the conclusion of the junior rodeo. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages six to 12; there is no charge for children under six. Tickets are available at the gate. Junior high school winners were Derek Beardall, Justin Jensen, Rachel McBride, Hillary Gardea, Danielle Beck, Melissa Warren, Anna Davis, Maren Johnson, Greg Osward, Cindy Nielsen and Jessica Nageotte. Sarah Scandlon, Spencer Mayfield, Jennife rScanlon and Jacob Frandsen placed in the historical category for young people. Kurt Brady, Zachary Stevens, Jessica Carlsen, Zachary Rawlings, Dustin Carter, Laura Morris, Brett Johnson, Addison Smith, Lorraine Davis, Melissa Rawlings, Cameron Nielsen, Brett Johnson, Auriel and Lindsey Harward won in the intermediate group. Primary Division awards went to Cory Gurney, Hope Carter, Kristopher Cannon, Jason Clift, Ashley Tew, Oakley Bateman, Robert Mayfieldl, and Kimball Rawlins.
