A happy and bubbly senior, Tara believes that life's situations won't always be perfect, it's up to you to make it happen." Tara'8 involvement in school activities includes, being a member of the varsity cheerleading squad, which recently took second place at the UCA Competition held last November. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish club, and Encore Choir. She has received the National English Merit Award, is listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students, and has competed with the choir in state held competitions. Tara maintains a 3.9 grade point average while taking advanced classes in Spanish and and English Language Composition. As an active member of the Lehi 17th Ward, Tara has held leader- - f ' i .. Tara Hill ship positions in all her Young Women's class presidencies. She is also currently working on her Young Women's Recognition Award and she is a member of the Lehi High Seminary Council. Claiming she doesn't have any free time, Tara does find time to participate in Booster Club activities and projects and she also enjoys writing, singing, camping and Tara's future includes going to college and majoring in dental hygiene. g. The Lehi Police Department will sponsor a DAR E. Parent Program that will teach parenting skills with positive prevention education. Three sessions will be held on on Feb. 6, 20 Tuesday evenings and 27 at the Lehi Fire Department building, 176 N. Center St., Lehi. There is no charge to attend, but interested parents are encourto guarantee aged to p having a seat. Kathy Stewart, D.A.R.E. Officer Serena McKinney has been selected to represent Utah in the Teachers American String Association (ASTA) violin competition in Kansas City, Mo. in April. McKinney is the daughter of Blaine and Sunja McKinney. The life of the Parish in 1995 will bereviews. Three new members will be elected to serve on the Vestry to succeed those who have completed their three year term. Other offices of the Parish and delegates to the annual Convention of the Diocese of Utah will be elected and the budget for 1996 will be reviewed and approved. There will be no Rector's Forum. This week's session will feature "The Keys to Lifelong Love" by Dr. James Dobson. Each video is 50 minutes long, with discussion time and refreshments following the video. The first session will include lessons on effective communication and drug abuse prevention for children from birth to eight years of age. Subjects in the second session will include drug abuse prevention Sister Rebecca Ashby Rebecca Ashby called to serve LDS mission in Peoria, Illinois Fork Junior High School where she is in the ninth grade and on the honor roll. She plays first violin with the school orchestra. She began violin at age three, studying the Suzuki method with teacher Trudy Meacham. She moved with her family to Korea and studied violin the next six years. She is currently studying under Barbara Williams at BYU. Serena has received a superior rating at the ASTA festival at BYU, and has been featured with the American Fork Symphony and the Utah Valley Symphony. She is currently a member of the Timpanogos Chamber Orchestra. Sister Rebecca Lynn Ashby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David E. Ashby of Lehi, has been called to serve in the Illinois Peoria LDS Mission. She spoke in a sacrament service Sunday, Jan. 21, in the Lehi 20th Ward Chapel. Serena McKinney Sister Ashby will enter the Missionary Training Center on Jan. 31. multi-purpos- Timp.
