Show Area residents currently working on Am. Fork production of Annie' The broadway musical "Annie" based on the cartoon strip "Little Orphan Annie" will soon be coming to American Fork courtesy of the American Fork Arts Council. Directed by Kim I. Brewster of Orem, "Annie" tells the story of a young orphan in New York City determined to find her parents during the depression era of the 1930's. "Annie is a cartoon strip I grew . up with," said Brewster. "I was born at the end of the depression...! always read Annie especially on Sunday morning. She was the hope for a lot of hopeless people. Although the play may not be his- torically accurate, it certainly reflects her optmism in a time of great despair...And it has the best music ever written for the stage." broad-wa- y Of the over 250 children who auditioned for a part in the musical, Kathryn Ruzicka of Highland was cast as Annie along with 18 orphans. Kathie Bradshaw of Lehi will appear in the production as Grace to Oliver Farrell, secretary Warbucks. She is originally from the state of Washington where she was involved in a number of theatrical productions. She first came to Utah to attend BYU where she graduated in Education. Kathie has been involved in performing much of her life. She has composed several pieces of music and received various awards and Choral Society to present concert The Utah Valley Choral Society will open its "A Night season with 1995-9- 6 at the Opera" Friday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle. Included on the program are "The Anvil Chorus," "March of the Toreadors" and "Polovtsian Dances," in addition to other works by Verdi, Bizet, Wagner and Mozart. Cheryl has been the choreogra- pher for numerous productions with the American Fork Arts Council, American Fork High School and Lehi High School as well. She currently teaches Dance at Lehi High School. Performances are scheduled for Oct. 27, 28 and 30 and Nov. 3, 4 and 6. Curtain time is at 7:30 p.m. at the American Fork Junior High School. For a reduced price, tickets may be purchased in advance at the American Fork Fitness Center at 454 N. Center Steet in American Fork. Ticket prices for adults are $4 and $3 for children and senior citizens. Immediate families may get in for $20.
