Show Citizen, Free Press, Review, April 5, 1995 - Page 18 Shirlyn Beck Miller Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt and dear friend, Shirlyn Beck Miller, passed away on April 3, 1995. She was born Feb. 19, 1961 to Max L. and Maurine Beck. She married Steve Miller. They were later divorced. She graduated with high honors from American Fork High School, attended Dixie College and BYUHawaii for one year. She received her degree from Utah Valley Community College in the spring of 1980. She loved animals and children, creating magic in her family. life will seem empty without Shirlyn's special spirit. She is survived by her mother, Maurine Beck, Alpine; five sisters and one brother. Clista Lee Pennie, Maxine(Mrs.Scott)Blackburn,Jeri (Mrs. Russell) Devitt, Darwin (Jill) Beck, all of Alpine; Lynda (Mrs. Vernon) Heap, San Diego, Calif. Joy (Mrs. Gene) Bates, Pleasant Grove; several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, at 1 1 a.m. in the Alpine 10th Ward Chapel, 165 N. 100 East. Friends may call at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 West, Riverton, on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 at the church. Edward C. Kresser Edward Charles Kresser, 75, Pleasant Grove, died April 2, 1995 at the American Fork Hospital. He was born Oct. 4, 1919 in Salt Lake City, a son of Edward John and Louie May Berrett Kresser. He V married Neola Forsyth Nov. 9, 1942 in the Salt LDS Lake 0 J He was a member of the Roughout Riding Club of Pleasant Grove. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife of Pleasant Grove; three sons and three daughters: Kenneth (Barbara) Kresser, Coalville; Mrs. Ron (LuJane) Willis, Murray; Mrs. Alan (Elaine) Bezzant, Ted (Roxene) Kresser and Robert (Kathy) Temple. Kresser, all ofPleasant Grove; Mrs. Dale(Edwa)Woodard,Taylorsville; 34 grandchildren; 10 one brother and one sister: Delbert Kresser, St. George; Velma McKean, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 5, at 11 a.m. in the Timpanogos 1st Ward Chapel, 400 E. 200 North, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. Frederick L. Fish Frederic "Fred" L. Fish, 82, died March 30, 1995 at American Fork Hospital after a short illness. was He born Sept. 29, 1912 in East Chicago, to Indiana, Fred H. And Harriet Storment Fish, the first of three children. He graduated from high school in Louisville, Ken. He married Florence Christine Love on June 3, 1939. They had two children. They moved to Utah in 1947. During his life he was a member of Boy Scouts of America for 31 years. He organized the first Cub Scout Pack, 3017, in American Fork in 1949. He was the Cub Scout Commissioner of the Utah National Parks Council of Boy ILli Scouts. Fred was foreman of the Metallurgical Department, Structural and Sheet Mills, and Coil Finishing and Shipping Department of U.S. Steel, Geneva Works. He retired in March 1972 after 25 years. Fred was president of the American Fork Library Board and Hospital Board. He was a member of the Utah State Central Committee of the Republican Party, and Councilman for American Fork. He was a charter member and on the Board of Directors for Alpine Country Club. He was an Elder, Trustee and Sunday School teacher for the Community Presbyterian Church of American Fork. Fred was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Florence of American Fork; His two daughters and Sandra Kay and Jerry Edwards of American Fork and Patricia Lynne and John Hunt of Anchorage, Alaska; seven grandchildren: Teri Lyhne Hunt Wier and Vicki Ann Hunt, Anchorage, Alaska; Curry John Edwards, Jennifer Ann Edwards, Kristin Dawn Edwards, Darren Michael Edwards, American Fork; JoAnne Hartle, Boston, Mass; one sons-in-la- Kori Lynne Weir, Anchorage, Alaska; one sister, Mary Lois Lawrence, Lakeland, Lorraine Dickerson Binch, beloved wife, mother, grandmothand sister, er, great-grandmolh- er died from can- cer March 31, 1995 at the age of 87 at her home in American Fork. She was born June 6, 1907 in Pleasant Grove, the daughter of Joseph Alfred and Sarah Hadfield Dickerson. She met George Franklin Binch at a dance at the Apollo Hall in American Fork and they were married Jan. 17, 1929 in Salt Lake City. They made their home in American Fork, where George was a poultry man and farmer, and she a mother and homemaker. She is greatly loved for her selfless devotion to her family. She will be missed more than words can ever express. She did the very best she could to raise and love her family. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and n. He was born June 26, 1919 of in in American Fork, a son of Robert E. and L. Emma Phillips Lee. He married ft Hazel Snyder Feb. 28, 1947 in Provo, Utah. She died Aug. 28, 1974. He married Alice Young, Aug. 9, 1975 in Lindon, Utah. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed at Geneva Steel for 35 12 years. He enjoyed his trains, tractors, and music. He is survived by his wife of Lindon; 3 daughters and 2 sons: Tony Berry, Sandy; Mrs. Bill (Kathy) Wright, Elberta; Mrs. Jeffry (Debi) Williams, Spanish w' friends. She is survived by one son and one daughter: Wayne George (Merry) Binch; Maxine Binch (Paul) Steele; both of American Fork; four grandchildren: Mark Steele (Cristy), Susan Binch, Sharon Binch, Joe Binch; five Camie Steele Jefferies (Aaron), Heidi Steele, n: Stacey Steele, Shellie Steele, Shaun Steele; a brother, Wesley Dickerson; and a sister, Lucille Parduhn. She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and a granddaughter.
