Show Meadow graduates first D.A.R.E. class Under the direction of Detective Stewart, DA.R.E. Officer for the Lehi Police Department, sixth grade students at Meadow Elementary became the first class in Lehi to complete the drug awareness program. The class Drug Abuse Resistance Education -i- nclu s discussions on assertiveness and ways to the say no, developing dangers of using drugs and ways to Kathy - self-estee- combat stress. Although all students in the receive some instruction, the program focuses on sixth grade students. Similar classes are currently being offered at both Lehi and Sego Lily Elementary schools. Principal Sonja Rasband and Mayor Bill Gibbs were also asked to make opening remarks. Special speakers included John and Stan Raas, twins who play football for Brigham Young University. Awards were also presented to Calvin Beal, T.J. Gray, Natalie Lewis and Dianna Rose, who had been selected prior to the program as winners of the essay contest, the culminatingprojectintheprogram.
