Show Auditions set for Halloween plays The American Fork City Arts Council will hold a Writers Workshop on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the American Fork Recreation Center, located at 350 E. 300 North, American Fork. Writers will be able to learn about the literary contest, "Spokes in the Wheel," which is also sponsored by the American Fork City Arts Council. This contest is open to all writers in the state of Utah. Three of the featured guest speakers will be playwright Rebecca Auditions will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Valley Center Playhouse, 780 N. 200 East, Lindon. The auditions will be for the theater's annual Halloween plays, "Hotel and Frankenstein" r Merryweather; and novelist Anita Stansfield. Arrangements are also being made for additional speakers. Rebecca Grass Johnson will speak on "How to Write, Produce and Promote Your First Play." In 1985, Mrs. Johnson wrote the musical "Of Peace and Pardon." Mrs. Johnson has written a column and feature articles for the Pleasant Grove Review. She resides in Manila. Poet Joyce Merryweather of Orem will speak on "Writing Winning Poems for Contests."
