Except for a brief time in Gunnison, the Glathars have spent most of their married life in Lehi. Their children are: Paul, Barbara (Mrs. Nile) Chamberlain, Janalee (Mrs. Tony) Turner and Grant, all of Lehi; Ralph, American Fork; and Russell, Salt Lake City. The family of Betty Turner Powell invites all friends and relatives to an open house honoring her 80th birthday. The event will be held Saturday, May 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lehi Senior Citizen Center, 120 N. Center. The family welcomes all, but no gifts please. Betty was born May 27, 1913 to Charles and Mary Z. Turner. She has spent the greater part of her life in Lehi. She married Ralph H. Powell in 1933 and they shared 43 happy years together. Betty has led an active life through school years into adulthood. She has served in all auxiliaries on ward and stake levels and as a temple worker. She was PTA president and served on numerous civic committees. For the past 16 years she has been a member of the Pink Ladies Volunteers and is a past president. This has been a joy to her and she cherishes the friendships made at American Fork Hospital. Betty likes to knit, crochet and loves traveling with friends. But I . He served an LDS mission in Paris, France. He has attended Western Wyoming College and Utah Valley Community College. A reception will honor the couple that evening from 7 to 9 at the Heber East Stake Center, 2395 S. Mill Road, Heber City. There will also be a reception on Saturday, May 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lehi 18th12th7th Ward, 1095 W. 300 West. All friends and rela- tives are invited to attend. Five years later she moved her store to the new American Fork Shopping Center and Chris Ivins opened Ivins Act II in the old building. The owners of the old building plan to demolish the structure soon.
