Two hurt when car rolls yards down canyon 100 Two men were injured, one of them critically, when their car rolled Tuesday morning in Butterfield Canyon in southwest Salt Lake County. The driver, Jeffrey Jerz, 29, 6468 Clematis Way, West Jordan, was taken by helicopter to University Hospital where he was in critical condition. Hospital spokesman John Dwan said Jerz was being treated for collapsed lungs, broken ribs and head and internal injuries. His brother, Tracy Jerz, 25, Tooele, was taken by ambulance to , No-lab- 1 encountered a passerby. The sheriff's office was called at 6:13 a.m. and Jeffrey Jerz, who had been trapped in the car, was airlifted out about 7 a.m. Valley Regional Medical Center where he was in stable condition. He has since returned to his home to complete his recovery. The accident occurred about 3 a.m. Deputy Robert Casias saM the men were driving south up the canyon and were making a turn when they hit a boulder that forced them off the embankment. The car rolled about 100 yards down the out trees and canyon taking sagebrush along the way. Tracy Jerz had to climb up the hill and walk about a mile before he Tooele Gene Jerz, Sr., father of the Jerz brothers, lives in Fairfield. Mother of the boys are Cathryn Beeny, Salt Lake City. Jeffrey is still recovering at the Department of the University of Utah Hospital.
