Show Citiienrcss, Review - Wed It, 1887 - Page 13 Aug. r 1 Go back to school with class ! Kids chorus to register Kids Sing is now 8 registering children for its season. The performing chorus is for ages 2 and will sing Latter-da- y Saint oriented arrangements. The chorus is also seeking a young cellist and violist to accompany the group. Debra Hadfield, director of the chorus, says children do not need to audition before registering, but should have a love for singing and a desire to serve Utah Valley and neighboring communities with their performances. In place of auditions, the first month will serve as a trial period. Performances will include singing for rest homes, community and state conferences and conventions, and joining with other choruses under the direction of J. Conrad Dunn, including participation in Latter-da-y July. Hadfield says the purposes of the group are to build the children's and confidence, to provide vocal and music theory training and to provide Latter-da- y Saint children an opportunity to become familiar with a variety of Latter-daSaint music. Hadfield has had 18 years experience teaching children musical skills. An instructor of memory workshops for all ages and the director of a preschool emphasizing memory and musical development, Hadfield has also taught piano, pedagogy classes, and directed previous children's choruses. She has received national and international honors for her efforts with children, teens and adults. Latter-da- y Kids will meet Wednesdays after school in Highland.
